That was summer.
Remember surfing, crashing waves, water spraying.
Remember the hammock, sleeping outside, stars glowing, mosquitoes biting and singing.
That was summer.
Remember swimming, splashing dives, stretching lengths.
Remember reading,listening to Mum at the beach, calm and relaxed.
Remember Christmas, excitedly opening presents, eating delicious food.
Remember barbecues, sizzling sausages , friends and laughter.
That was summer.

I really like that you’ve got lots of different senses in your poem! I especially like the descriptions you’ve used for sound, like the sizzling sausages, listening to Mum on the beach, and laughter! Those are definitely sounds of summer that I enjoy too!
